CMT is developing an ESG program that brings together its environmental, social and governance priorities under one umbrella. Through this program, CMT seeks to communicate these priorities, measure and improve performance, and lead to business success and better outcomes for our customers and the individuals they serve. Our ESG priorities and related objectives include:
- Customer Satisfaction: Our customers are central to our mission at CMT, and we are dedicated to giving our customers peace of mind by providing full-service solutions from unloading to storage, delivery, and beyond. CMT strives to avoid service interruptions by employing a skilled team, maintaining a well-equipped fleet, and ensuring efficient operations for timely and secure cargo handling. CMT aims to meet or exceed the target of 80 percent of issues responded to within 24 hours.
- Biodiversity and habitat: CMT’s is committed to minimizing the impact its operation has on the local wildlife and surrounding environment. Our goal is to preserve native biodiversity and commit to establishing an internal action plan for zero wildlife deaths annually.
- Water Stewardship: CMT is committed to minimizing water use in its operations by emphasizing water consumption efficiency. To ensure that we satisfy our commitment, CMT will continuously monitor withdrawal and discharge trends and aim for year over year improvement in water consumption intensity.
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI): At CMT, we want to ensure that 100 percent of staff with people management responsibilities attend annual training related to creating an inclusive and engaging working culture by 2026.
- Business Ethics and Professionalism: CMT is committed to operating with integrity and will investigate every report alleging behavior violating the Company’s Ethical Conduct Policy within 48 hours. Additionally, 100 percent of employees will receive annual training on the Ethical Conduct Policy.
- Health and Safety: We want to promote a strong safety culture by ensuring that all employees annually complete 100 percent of required safety training, resulting in zero health and safety incidents within CMT.
- Energy & Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions: CMT is committed to monitoring its energy consumption and emission sources to identify opportunities, such as restriction of idling of Company-owned trucks and conservation of energy. CMT is working to track and reduce idling of its fleet vehicles by 10% by 2030.
CMT’s ESG program includes action items related to each priority area and the tracking of related Key Performance Indicators, as described above, and will continue to be developed and refined to meet the expectations and needs of our employees, customers, and other stakeholders.
